Be sure that you have a program to open this file type before downloading and/or purchasing. For example, if you are downloading a PPT file, make sure you have Microsoft PowerPoint installed.

This package of audience handouts consists of a 15-page WORD document (non pdf for editing) that provides your audience with key elements from the PowerPoint presentation (SECOND GRADE: Building Common Core Academic Vocabulary).

When used in parallel with the PowerPoint presentation, this handout allows the participants to focus on the content as opposed to trying to capture all the details of the PowerPoint during the presentation. Your audience will leave the session with handouts they can refer to now and in the future—a GREAT way for review one-on-one or with a group! This package includes the following:

• Second Grade Common Core Standards for Vocabulary Acquisition
• How to Teach Tier 1, 2, 3 Words
• Marzano’s Vocabulary Process and Classroom Examples to Teach Each Step
• Teaching Vocabulary: Direct/Indirect Approaches
• “Front Loading” and Pre-reading Exercises
• 20 “Use it Tomorrow” Strategies for Teaching Vocabulary

PowerPoint presentation is available for purchase and download to support these handouts.

I downloaded the PPT earlier but didn't notice the handouts. The handout pkg was SO helpful--kept my audience focused because they were not consumed with taking notes.

  • Will you be creating a similar product for grades 5-6? I'm struggling with teaching them vocabulary that they missed in earlier grades.
